Made for the GMTK Game Jam 2025
To fit the theme: "Loop"!

Sir Loopsalot needs your help!

The brave knight loves looping, and wants to loop as many times as possible, but his actions have consequences, as well as the loops bringing random elements!

Controls:

  • A and D, or arrow keys to move
  • Space to jump

How to play:

Get to the portal to score a "loop". Each loop, any tiles in the middle you jumped off of will disappear (these get marked red). Additionally, more blocks will randomly spawn after each loop, first appearing as a preview. Some blocks that spawn are lava blocks, which are deadly to touch!

Leaderboard:

This game has a working online leaderboard! You can record your score on the game over screen using the textbox and button at the bottom right. Experiencing any problems with it? Let me know!
Also: Sometimes the leaderboard servers go down! :(

can you disable inputs for a bit after a loop. if i hold right for a second after looping which is hard to avoid i end up dead.

Love the idea! So many cool ideas going on with room to expand!
I feel like there could be random cases where the path is not possible due to a lava block blocking a reasonable path or lava on top a block that necessary to reach the goal, or blocks just not being close enough.

I got somewhat far enough to get an idea of how the block randomizer works but some considerations for always having a solution/path would be a great addition! (otherwise it feels like the rng determines the score instead of the skill)
-An idea to do that is first understanding what are the key blocks that allow u to reach the portal in 1 Jump. and then ensuring at least that one of those key blocks exists (without lava on top of it)

(Side note: I also probably watched the exact same godot tutorial as the game i submitted was my first time using godot and has a suspiciously similar knight..:)

I'm glad you liked it! Funnily enough I attempted to implement a simple path system for the randomisation but couldn't get it easily working. But I'm glad you liked the game and thank you for sharing your thoughts (and yes, the Brackeys pack is pretty great :D)
